How much does an AC compressor replacement cost?
It depends on capacity and brand; with the part, brazing, vacuum and gas it typically lands between €400 and €900 for domestic splits. Before quoting it we rule out the cheap causes — and give you the new-unit figure alongside.
Is repairing the PCB worth it?
Often yes: some boards die from a varistor or relay and the repair is reliable and cheap. When a board is burnt through or discontinued, we say so plainly and move to the alternatives.
What does the blinking error code mean?
Every manufacturer has its table: the same blink is a sensor on one brand and communications on another. Send us brand, model and a video of the blinking — we can usually orient you before the visit.
Why does the breaker trip when I switch the AC on?
Typically: a compressor leaking to earth, a shorted capacitor or moisture in connections. It is an electrical-diagnosis fault — do not keep retrying; the breaker is protecting you.
Repair the compressor or buy a new unit?
Our guiding rule: a compressor only if the unit is under 8–10 years old and otherwise healthy. Beyond that age, a new unit with a full warranty usually wins — but you decide, with both figures in front of you.
