Quick summary
A Fujitsu code reads as Operation blinks : Timer blinks. The most common: 2:2 indoor temperature sensor, 5:2 indoor-outdoor communication, 8:3 outdoor unit anomaly, continuous:continuous try a 5-min reset. Count the pattern and send it to WhatsApp +34 617 307 409.
How to count the blink code
With the unit in fault, watch the two LEDs on the indoor unit's front:
- The Operation LED (green) blinks N times, pause.
- The Timer LED (orange) blinks M times, pause.
- The pattern repeats. The code is N:M — e.g. 5 green flashes and 2 orange = code 5:2.
Some models additionally show an EE:XX code on the remote's display when holding the test button. And the trade trick: filming 15 seconds beats counting from memory — fast patterns deceive.
Table of frequent Fujitsu combinations
| Operation : Timer | Meaning | Can you try anything? | Severity |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1:1 | Serial communication error | 5-min reset at the breaker | Medium |
| 2:1 | Room temperature sensor | Reset; if it repeats, the sensor | Medium |
| 2:2 | Indoor coil sensor | Reset | Medium |
| 3:2 | Outdoor coil sensor | Reset | Medium |
| 5:2 | Indoor ↔ outdoor communication | 5-min reset; if it repeats, wiring/board | Medium-high |
| 7:1 | High discharge temperature | Possible low gas — don't insist | High |
| 8:2 / 8:3 | Outdoor unit / inverter anomaly | Clean the outdoor unit; one reset | High if it repeats |
| 9:1 | Indoor fan motor | Nothing useful without opening it | Medium |
As always: tables vary by series (ASY, ASHG, ducted ACY…). The pattern plus the unit's reference lets us identify it with certainty.
The three code-less Fujitsu symptoms
And the three Fujitsu queries that come without blinking: "it cools less every year" (saturated blower and coil — the deep clean restores the airflow), "frost on the thin pipe" (low gas from a valve leak, its classic weak point — located with nitrogen) and "the outdoor unit hums but won't start" (a swollen start capacitor — the most gratifying cheap part in the catalogue). All three normally solved in one visit.
FAQ
Fujitsu error codes: the blink table — FAQ
My Fujitsu blinks 5 and 2 — what is wrong?
5:2 is a communication failure between indoor and outdoor units: anything from a corrosion-affected connection to a board. Reset 5 minutes at the breaker; if it returns, it needs an electrical diagnosis (€60, deducted from the repair).
Where do I find my Fujitsu's exact model?
On the side or bottom label of the indoor unit (ASY-XX, ASHG-XX…) and on the outdoor unit's plate. Send a photo of the label with the blink pattern and we identify it without error margin.
Can a reset genuinely clear the problem?
If it was a one-off protection (micro-cut, voltage spike), yes — and it won't return. If the code reappears within hours or days, the cause is real and postponing it usually raises the price: better a diagnosis now than a compressor in August.
